Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews responded to a factory fire in Truganina this afternoon, following multiple calls to Triple Zero (000).

Crews arrived on scene within 9 minutes to find a 30m x 40m, tilt slab factory issuing flames and smoke.

High volume water monitors were utilised to attack the fire from external positions before firefighters, wearing beathing apparatus (BA), could enter the building and bring the fire under control, which occurred within 45 minutes.

The fire was contained to the mezzanine level and specialist fire investigators will attend the scene tomorrow to determine the cause.

One occupant evacuated safely from the factory prior to FRV's arrival. Nil injuries were reported.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were on scene to support firefighting activities.

Firefighters will remain on scene for some time, to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.
