Firefighters bring Port Melbourne building fire Under Control

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews responded to a building on fire in Port Melbourne at 4:48am this morning, following multiple calls to Triple Zero (000) reporting a building fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene within 3 minutes to find a building full of smoke and escalated the response.

FRV crews donned breathing apparatus and made entry to find fire involved with 3 cars and heavy smoke filling the showroom.

No occupants were present and the fire was deemed under control by 05:23am.

Plummer St is currently closed in both directions.

The cause of the fire is deemed to be suspicious, and it will be investigated by Victoria Police Arson squad.

Firefighters will remain on scene to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.
