Firefighters have quickly brought a grassfire in Truganina under control after multiple calls to Triple Zero (000) shortly after 1 p.m. reporting smoke and flames in the area.
FRV crews arrived to the Sheahan Road scene within six minutes to find a spreading grassfire covering five acres.
More than 40 firefighters from FRV and CFA attacked the blaze with assistance from air support, bringing the fire under control at 1:48 p.m.
Community members are advised to avoid the area and keep the roads clear to allow emergency services to continue their operations with Victoria Police monitoring traffic.
The incident is not currently being treated as suspicious
