Just after 6:30 a.m. this morning, FRV and CFA firefighters responded to a truck fire in Adeer on the Western Ring Road after multiple calls to Triple Zero (000) were received.

FRV crews arrived on scene within six minutes to find a semi-trailer with a mixed load alight, which had also created a running oil and grassfire.

Firefighters tackled the blaze and the incident was brought under control just after 7.30 a.m.

Crews will remain on scene for some time and motorists are asked to avoid the area due to road closures and traffic congestion.

Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police are also on scene.
