Firefighters contain Abbotsford building fire

28 firefighters responded to a building fire in Abbotsford on Monday evening.

FRV crews were called to the incident just before 7:40pm, after multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported the fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find a fire in the rear of an unoccupied building spreading to the second floor.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters quickly made access and aggressively attacked the fire.

Fortunately, there were no occupants in the building.

The fire was declared under control in 14 minutes of firefighters first arriving on scene.

Crews will remain on scene over night to ensure the fire is completely extinguished and the area is safe.

The incident was handed over to specialist fire investigators to determine the cause of the fire.
