Approximately 36 firefighters responded to a house fire in Croydon on Saturday morning.

FRV crews were called to the Ryland Avenue incident just after 2:00am after multiple calls to Triple Zero (000).

Firefighters arrived on scene in seven minutes to find a two storey home already fully alight and confirmed that no one was inside the property.

FRV and CFA crews worked together to attack the fire and brought the blaze under control 44 minutes after they first arrived on scene.

Crews remained on scene overnight to ensure the fire was completely extinguished and that the area was safe.

FRV’s Fire Investigation Unit will investigate the cause of the fire.
