Firefighters contain blaze at Reservoir house on Tuesday

More than 25 FRV firefighters responded to a house fire in Reservoir on Tuesday afternoon.

A caller to Triple Zero (000) reported the fire at 1.10pm, and crews arrived at the Newton Street address within seven minutes.

Upon arrival, crews found the fire was well alight.

The fire was located at the back of the single-storey house and was spreading into the roof.

Crews immediately escalated the response.

Crews worked quickly to attack the fire, including by using an aerial appliance.

Crews brought the fire under control just before 1.45pm.

One occupant of the house had evacuated before crews arrived on scene, and was treated by Ambulance Victoria paramedics.

FRV’s specialist fire investigators are investigating the cause of the fire.
