Approximately 30 FRV firefighters responded to a house fire at Bulleen on Friday afternoon.

Multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported seeing flames at the Ridout Place house shortly before 1pm on Friday.

Crews arrived on scene within seven minutes.

Upon arrival, crews found the fire was in the roof of the single-storey brick house.

Firefighters immediately escalated the response.

Crews worked quickly to attack the fire, including by using an aerial appliance.

Crews brought the fire under control just before 1.30pm.

Firefighters remain on scene to fully extinguish the fire.

The centre of the property has been damaged, with some structural collapse.

Thankfully, the occupants of the house evacuated the property before firefighters arrived.
