Firefighters contain Caroline Springs house fire

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews responded to a building fire in Selwyn Close at Caroline Springs this morning after multiple calls were made to Triple Zero (000).

Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke issuing from the ground floor of a double storey brick veneer house, and immediately called for additional resources.

FRV crews donned breathing apparatus and entered the burning house with hose lines to attack the fire.

All occupants were able to evacuate safely from the home without injury.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the ground floor of the home, declaring it under control at 11AM, 22 minutes after arriving on scene.

The bulk of the damage has occurred in the laundry area after the fire started in a washing machine.

CFA firefighters assisted on scene with firefighting operations.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were on scene to support firefighting activities.
