Firefighters contain fire in high-rise Carlton building

More than 17 FRV firefighters responded to a fire at a Carlton high-rise apartment building on Wednesday afternoon.

A fire alarm activated just after 3pm and crews arrived at the Nicholson Street address within six minutes.

Crews immediately escalated the response.

Wearing breathing apparatus, crews entered the building, where they found a fire in an apartment on the sixteenth floor.

Crews worked quickly to attack the fire, including by using an aerial appliance.

Crews brought the fire under control just after 3.20pm.

Thankfully, nobody was hurt in the incident.
