Firefighters contain fire at Moorabbin TAFE

More than 30 FRV firefighters responded to a fire at a Moorabbin TAFE on Tuesday afternoon.

A fire alarm was activated just after noon and crews arrived at the South Road scene within seven minutes.

Upon arrival, crews found a significant amount of smoke issuing from the multi-storey building.

Crews immediately escalated the response.

Wearing breathing apparatus, crews entered the building and located the fire on the second floor.

Crews worked quickly to attack the fire using nine appliances, including an aerial appliance.

Crews brought the fire under control just before 1pm.

Crews remain on scene to fully extinguish the fire.

The building was evacuated during the incident and thankfully nobody was injured.
