FRV crews responded to a hazmat incident in St Kilda following a call to Triple Zero (000) just before 10:20 am on Wednesday.
Firefighters arrived at the Wellington Street scene in six minutes to find approximately 10 drums containing chemicals, with one of the drums leaking.
Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters set up a staging area around the premises and performed air monitoring.
Crews worked carefully to make the scene safe and mitigate the leaking drum with the incident declared under control at 12:27 pm.
The scene was then handed back over to the owner of the property.
