FRV firefighters responded to a house fire in Hoppers Crossing just before 7 pm on Monday night, following multiple calls to Triple Zero (000).

Crews arrived at the Barber Drive scene in less than 4 minutes to find the front room of a single storey, brick dwelling, engulfed in flames.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters worked to extinguish the fire, bringing the incident under control within 20 minutes.

Two occupants, who were at home at the time of the fire, had safely evacuated prior to brigade arrival.

Thankfully no injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is believed to have been the result of a faulty laptop.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were on scene to support firefighting activities with crews remaining on scene overnight to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.
