Early this morning FRV and CFA firefighters responded to a house fire in Deakin Crescent at Dandenong North. Several calls to Triple Zero reported smoke and flames, with reports an occupant had burns.
FRV firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes from receiving the call to find 50% of the house alight.
The family of five, including three children, had self-evacuated to the street with the adult female occupant suffering burns.
Police and Ambulance attended.
Ambulance treated the woman, and she was taken to hospital with 20% burns.
The fire was brought under control in 20 minutes.
The fire significantly damaged the house and a building surveyor will attend to assess the building during the day.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and will be investigated during daylight hours.
