Firefighters contain house fire at Glen Iris

Approximately 28 firefighters responded to a house fire in Glen Iris late Sunday night.

FRV crews were called to the Creswick street incident just after 11:15pm, after multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported the fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene in just under five minutes to find the home well alight, with flames coming from the roof and through the front door.

Crews conducted an external attack on the fire due to the structural integrity.

The fire was brought under control just before 11:50pm, and the cause is yet to be determined.

Firefighters undertook an internal search of the property and fortunately did not locate any occupants.

FRV remained on scene overnight to ensure the area is safe.

The incident is believed to be suspicious and the scene has been handed to Victoria police to investigate.
