At 5.23am, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to an incident on Coburns Road, Melton after callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a house fire.
Crews arrived on scene within five minutes to find a single storey home fully involved in fire and threatening to spread to adjoining homes.
Firefighters established firefighting hose lines to protect adjoining residences.
Crews entered the building and contained the blaze.
The incident was deemed under control at 05.47.
No injuries have been reported at this stage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were on scene assisting FRV operations.
