Firefighters contain Truganina house fire

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews responded to a house on fire in Truganina on Sunday evening, after multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a house fire at 10.39pm.

FRV crews, assisted by CFA, arrived at the Botanical Drive scene within seven minutes, to find thick smoke and flames issuing from the front of a 10 x 20 metre single storey brick house.

Firefighters escalated the response, sending additional appliances and crews. Working together, crews entered the house and conducted an aggressive internal attack. The blaze was successfully contained to the front room and roof space.

All occupants had safely evacuated from the house.

The fire was deemed Under Control by 11.21pm.

A total of 10 appliances and 30 firefighters attended.

The cause of the fire is not yet known but it will be investigated by FRV specialist investigators.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were on scene to support firefighting activities.
