Firefighters were called to Werribee just before 9:30am, after multiple Triple Zero (000) callers reported seeing smoke coming from the roof of a house.

FRV crews arrived on scene at Heaths Road within seven minutes to find a single storey brick home involved in the fire.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus quickly set up hose lines and started attacking the fire internally.

The fire was declared under control less than 10 minutes after FRV crews arrived at the scene and was contained to the front of the house.

All occupants had self-evacuated from the house before FRV’s arrival on scene, and were assessed for smoke inhalation by Ambulance Victoria paramedics.

At the height of the incident there were eight firefighting appliances on scene, including an aerial appliance.

The exact cause of the fire is not yet known, but will be investigated by specialist fire investigators.

CFA, Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria crews all assisted at the scene.
