FRV firefighters responded to a fire in Yarraville this morning.
Callers to Triple Zero reported that two cars were alight and threatening a house.
Crews arrived at the Stephen Street scene at 2.39am, within seven minutes.
Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters quickly attacked the car fires.
Neighbours in nearby properties were evacuated as a precaution.
Firefighters extinguished the car fires after 10 minutes of arriving on scene, then entered the house, the front of which was alight.
Three people had safely evacuated to the back of the property and were not injured.
Firefighters worked together to attack the fire, bringing it under control at 3.05am.
The fire has been deemed suspicious and will be investigated by Victoria Police.
Maribyrnong City Council has also been notified of the event.
A community advice notice was issued for smoke in the area.
