Firefighters extinguish Craigieburn garage fire

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews responded to multiple calls to Triple Zero (000) reporting a garage fire on Scaevola Rd, Craigieburn, just before 10:30pm on Friday night.

Crews arrived on scene at 10:28pm and were confronted with a garage fully involved by fire and flames through the roofline, firefighting crews entered the home containing the fire to the garage and rear of the property.

The home has sustained some structural collapse of the roofline. At 11:02pm the fire was deemed under control, the 4 residents that were home at the time had evacuated safely however a neighbour who had initially tried to fight the fire was transported to hospital for observation.

The cause of the fire is not suspicious.

Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and CFA were on scene assisting FRV operations.
