Firefighters extinguish a house fire in Essendon

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to a house fire in Essendon this morning, following multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported flames through the roof.

Crews arrived on scene within 7 minutes to find a single storey dwelling in advanced stages of fire, fully involved in flames, and compromised structural integrity.

Wearing beathing apparatus (BA), firefighters worked an external strategy to extinguish the fire, bringing the incident under control within 30 minutes.

No injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were on scene to support firefighting activities.

Firefighters will remain on scene for some time, to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.

An advice message has been issued for smoke in the area.
