Firefighters extinguish St Albans shed fire

FRV firefighters made quick work of a fire that broke out in a St Albans shed this afternoon.

A number of callers reported black smoke and flames coming from a shed on Erica Ave just after 3pm.

Crews arrived in six minutes to find a brick shed at the rear of a home fully alight.

More than 20 firefighters worked to contain the blaze and the incident was deemed under control after 10 minutes.

Crews remained on scene for an additional hour wetting down hot spots and ensuring the fire was completely extinguished.

All residents safely evacuated prior to FRV arrival and there were no injuries.
