More than 38 firefighters responded to a factory fire in Campbellfield in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

FRV crews were called to the Thornycroft Street incident just before 12.20am after a multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported the fire.

Arriving within three minutes, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus assessed the scene and worked to suppress the blaze that had fully engulfed the 20m x 30m cabinetry factory.

Firefighters fought the fire from the outside by surrounding the building with water lines.

The fire was brought under control just after 1.30am, with FRV crews remaining on scene overnight to fully extinguish the flames and monitor for hot spots.

The property has been extensively damaged, and the local council building surveyor has been notified. Thankfully there were no injuries.

Firefighters believe the fire is suspicious and have handed the scene to Victoria Police for further assessment.
