Firefighters quick on scene to Caulfield South fire

FRV responded to a fire in Caulfield South at 5pm on Thursday afternoon, after a caller to Triple Zero (000) reported a garage on fire.

Arriving on scene within two minutes, seven FRV crews found a garage well alight, attached to a double storey premises.

Wearing breathing apparatus, crews investigated the building to ensure no one was inside.

Firefighters began to attack the fire and were able to contain the fire to the garage between two residences, and checked for fire extension on both sides before declaring the fire under control.

The fire was brought under control in 37 minutes.

Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police are on scene.
