More than 30 FRV firefighters responded to a structure fire in Mill Park at approximately 9:35pm on Friday evening, after multiple calls were received by Triple Zero (000).
FRV crews arrived at the Giles Court scene to find the garage of a single-storey brick residence fully involved in flames. Crews immediately escalated the response.
Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters from FRV and CFA worked to attack the blaze and deter it from spreading to neighbouring houses, bringing it under control at about 10:25pm.
Fortunately, occupants of the house had already self-evacuated.
Specialist fire investigators are working alongside Victoria Police to determine the cause of the fire.
Ambulance Victoria were also on scene to support firefighting activities. Thankfully no injuries were reported.
