Firefighters quick on scene to Reservoir apartment fire

At 10.21am, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to Ralph Street, Reservoir, after callers to Triple Zero (000) reported an apartment fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find a two-storey apartment fully involved in flames.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus commenced an external attack on the fire, working to extinguish the flames and prevent it from spreading to adjoining apartments.

Firefighters conducted a primary search of the first floor, and when it was safe to do so, searched the entire premises, confirming no one was inside.

The fire was deemed under control by 10.50am.

The cause of the fire is not yet known and will be investigated by FRV specialists and Victoria Police.

Firefighters will remain on scene to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.
