Firefighters quick to scene of South Yarra apartment fire

FRV crews responded to an apartment fire at a complex in South Yarra on Sunday night.

Approximately 26 firefighters were called to the Tivoli Road complex just after 9:00pm, after multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported the fire on the second level of the building.

Firefighters arrived on scene in five minutes and wearing breathing apparatus, worked quickly to bring the blaze under control, within five minutes.  

Damage from the fire was contained to a single apartment, with some surrounding apartments affected by smoke and water damage.

Residents were able to reoccupy the complex once made safe by FRV crews.

One person was transferred into the care of Ambulance Victoria paramedics.

The cause has been determined as accidental.
