Approximately 29 firefighters responded to a house fire in Coolaroo on Tuesday evening.

FRV crews were called to the Barry Road incident at 8:34pm after multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported the fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find the front of the house well alight.

Wearing breathing apparatus they entered the building and attacked the fire to stop it spreading to the rest of the house.

Fortunately, all occupants had already evacuated.

Firefighters declared the incident under control 22 minutes after they first arrived on scene, and transferred one person into the care of Ambulance Victoria paramedics.

FRV handed the scene over to Victoria Police for further investigation.
