30 FRV firefighters responded to a house fire in Kingsbury on Monday morning.

FRV crews were called to the Scott Grove incident at 1.05am after multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported smoke and flames issuing from the single storey brick premise.

Arriving in six minutes, firefighters quickly escalated the response.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters entered the building and began an internal search to locate the source of the fire. An aerial appliance was also on scene to assist with access to the building.

Attacking the flames from the inside, the fire was brought under control at 1.40am, just over 40 minutes after the first crews arrived on scene.

The fire was contained to the rear of the building, with crews remaining on scene to completely extinguish the blaze, monitor for hot spots and ventilate the premises.

At the height of the incident, there were 10 FRV appliances on scene, including five Pumpers, one Rescue Unit and one Aerial Unit.

The scene has been handed to Victoria Police for investigation.
