Firefighters rescue man from burning building in Springvale South

At 10.40pm on Friday 3 July, Fire Rescue Victoria was called to Montclair Close, Springvale South.

Firefighters arrived on scene within minutes of receiving the Triple Zero (000) call to find a bedroom on fire within a single-storey brick home.

An unconscious person was removed from the burning room by firefighters, who provided care until the Ambulance Victoria arrived.

The patient suffered significant burns and was transported to hospital.

Commander Illman praised the efforts of firefighters who not only removed the patient but expediently extinguished the fire and contained it to the bedroom.

Both FRV & CFA firefighters attended this incident.

Specialist FRV Fire Investigators and Victoria Police will attend the scene early in the morning to determine the cause.
