Firefighters respond to Albert Park kitchen fire

Approximately 22 firefighters responded to a fire in an Albert Park shop on Monday afternoon.

FRV crews were called to the Victoria Avenue incident at 2:20pm after multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported flames coming from the flue of the shop.

Firefighters arrived on scene in five minutes to find the fire had been extinguished and several people had evacuated.

Wearing breathing apparatus, crews began a search of the shop to ensure the blaze had been fully extinguished and to clear the smoke.

Firefighters declared the incident under control within nine minutes.

The fire is not believed to be suspicious, and was contained to a kitchen and flue within the shop
