FRV crews responded to a house fire in Boronia just after 2:30 am on Friday morning following multiple calls to Triple Zero (000) reporting the sound of explosions.

Firefighters arrived at the Boronia Road scene in less than three minutes to find a 15-metre x 25-metre brick home fully involved in flames and immediately escalated the response.

Wearing breathing apparatus, FRV and CFA firefighters worked side by side to attack the fire and contain the scene, with the incident declared under control at 3:09 am.

The home sustained significant damage with most of the internal structure involved in flames.

Three neighbouring homes were evacuated by Victoria Police with the incident deemed suspicious.

Ambulance Victoria also attended the scene.
