Firefighters respond to excavator incident in Box Hill

FRV firefighters and heavy rescue crews responded to a Box Hill building site this afternoon after a caller to Triple Zero (000) reported that someone was trapped under a small excavator/crane that had rolled over at approximately midday.

Four FRV units arrived to the Elgar Road property within six minutes to find a patient requiring extrication from beneath the excavator.

Firefighters set up a safe recovery system and within four minutes worked to free the patient from the excavator.  The patient was treated on scene by Ambulance Victoria and once released, was placed into the care of paramedics.

WorkSafe and Victoria Police also attended the incident.
