Firefighters respond to Hillside house fire

FRV crews responded to a structure fire in Hillside late Saturday night after multiple calls to Triple Zero (000) reported large amounts of smoke and flames issuing from a residence on Timele Drive.

Approximately 22 firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes of receiving the call to find flames and smoke issuing throughout 50 per cent of the single story brick house.

Firefighters wearing Breathing Apparatus worked to attack the flames with water while protecting nearby properties.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported at the scene and the incident was declared under control in 25 minutes, at about 12.30am.

Crews remain on scene to monitor potential hot spots and investigate the cause of the blaze.
