Firefighters respond to Richmond house fire

Approximately 24 firefighters responded to a house fire in Richmond on Tuesday morning.

Multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported large amounts of black smoke issuing from a house on Belgravia Street.

FRV crews arrived on scene within five minutes to find the house fully involved in flames and smoke.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus worked to attack the flames while protecting nearby properties.

The fire was brought under control in just over an hour, at 8.50am.

Firefighters transferred one person into the care of Ambulance Victoria paramedics.

Victoria Police assisted with traffic control on scene.

The cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed.
