Approximately 28 FRV firefighters responded to a warehouse fire in Tullamarine in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Crews arrived at the Tullamarine Park Road address shortly after 1am, where they found a two-storey warehouse filled with thick, black smoke.

Wearing breathing apparatus, crews entered the building.

Thick, black smoke resulted in poor visibility inside, making it difficult for firefighters to locate the seat of the fire.

Firefighters worked together to knock down the fire using seven appliances, including an aerial appliance.

Firefighters brought the fire under control just after 2.30am.

Crews remained on scene to extinguish any hot spots and ventilate the building.

The cause of the fire has not been determined and FRV's specialist fire investigators will investigate the cause.

Victoria Police also attended the scene.

Update: Saturday 1.35pm

FRV's fire investigators have determined the fire was caused by an accidental electrical issue.
