Thirty Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) firefighters responded to multiple calls of a house fire in Avondale Heights this evening.
Crews arrived at the Venice Court scene at 6.28pm, within four minutes of the calls, to find smoke and flames smoke and flames issuing from the roof of the two-storey brick house.
Firefighters escalated the response, sending additional appliances and crews.
FRV crews donned breathing apparatus and began attacking the fire as well as preventing any fire spread to adjoining properties. An aerial fire truck was also utilized to extinguish the fire.
All occupants have evacuated safely, and a community warning was issued for significant smoke in the area.
The fire was deemed under control by 7.12pm.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but it will be investigated by FRV specialists.
Firefighters will remain on scene overnight, to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.
