Thirty FRV firefighters responded to a fire at a Braybrook unit on Friday afternoon.

Multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported smoke issuing from the Elva Court property shortly after 5.05pm.

Crews arrived on scene within six minutes to find a single storey unit well alight.

The response from FRV was escalated as firefighters donned breathing apparatus to enter the premise to conduct a vital search for occupants.

No occupants were found to be inside the property.

Externally, FRV crews ensured that neighbouring properties were protected from heat and flames using water hose reels.

They also made sure the power and gas services were isolated to the unit.

The fire was deemed under control at 5.40pm.

FRV will remain on scene to fully extinguish the fire and begin to investigate the cause of the fire.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were also on scene assisting.
