Firefighters tackle abandoned unit fire at Patterson Lakes

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to a structure fire at 1.12am on Gladesville Boulevard, Patterson Lakes after callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a unit fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes to find an abandoned two-storey brick dwelling well alight.

FRV and CFA crews worked to contain the blaze externally before firefighters wore breathing apparatus to knock down the blaze internally.

The scene was deemed Under Control at 3.19am.

Firefighters remained at the incident to monitor for hot spots.

The gas and power companies attended, as well as a building surveyor.

The incident was deemed suspicious, and the scene handed to Victoria Police.
