Fire Rescue Victoria responded to an incident on Chifley Av in Altona just after 11am, following multiple calls to Triple Zero (000) reporting a house fire spreading into an adjourning property.
Firefighters arrived on scene in 4 minutes to find a two-storey home well alight and immediately set up firefighting lines to contain the fire and protect the neighbouring properties.
The occupants of the two-storey residence were home at the time of the blaze and were able call Triple Zero (000) and evacuate, one receiving treatment from Ambulance Victoria on scene with a young male also treated and transported to hospital.
Crews worked to contain the fire which had spread from the ground floor into the second storey rooms and roof space, bringing the incident under control by 11:36am.
The home has sustained structural damage with smoke damage throughout.
The cause of the fire is not suspicious.
Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were both on scene for firefighter welfare.
