Firefighters tackle blaze at Caulfield home

FRV firefighters have made quick work of a fire which erupted at a Caulfield house this afternoon.

Crews were called to the address in Hartley Avenue around 12pm following multiple Triple Zero (000) calls reporting flames and smoke.

Firefighters arrived on scene in five minutes and donned breathing apparatus to search for occupants and tackle the fire from inside the house.

Luckily, all occupants of the property had safely evacuated due to working smoke alarms, however firefighters rescued a cat which had been trapped inside. 

Firefighters were able to gain the upper hand of the blaze quickly, containing it to an upstairs bedroom and getting the incident under control within 30 minutes.
