Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded at 4.20pm to a structure fire after callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a house fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find a single storey weatherboard house fully ablaze.

Initial reports indicated the house was unoccupied.

Crews wore breathing apparatus to conduct a search of the property, which confirmed the property was vacant.

Firefighters tackled the blaze, and the scene was deemed Under Control at 04.52pm.

The house was destroyed by the fire.

A council building surveyor will attend the scene to assess the structure.

FRV crews are expected to remain on scene for several hours to fully extinguishing the fire.

A Community Advice message was issued due to the large amount of smoke in the area.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined but will be investigated.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria assisted firefighters on scene.
