Firefighters tackle building fire in Mordialloc

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to an incident on Boundary Rd, Mordialloc at 3:25am following multiple Triple Zero (000) calls reporting a building fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find a 50m x 20m single storey tilt slab building involved in fire and issued an escalated response.

Crews established firefighting lines to combat the blaze, gaining access through a roller shutter door at the rear of the building.

Firefighters worked quickly to contain the flames despite heavy smoke logging throughout the building.

Crews also gained entry to the adjourning property to check for fire extension.

The incident was declared under control at 4:14am.

The cause of the fire is deemed suspicious.

Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police were on scene to assist FRV operations.
