Firefighters tackle Mornington blaze

FRV firefighters, supported by CFA firefighters, have extinguished a fire which destroyed a unit in Mornington this evening.

Crews were called to the single storey building shortly after 8pm and arrived within four minutes to find the unit in flames.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus searched the building, but fortunately no one was located inside.

Crews managed to prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring homes.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined and Victoria Police is investigating.
