Firefighters tackle Shepparton house fire

FRV firefighters were called to Shepparton this afternoon following a house fire.

Crews were called to the address on Numurkah Road about 2.30pm and arrived to find a single storey weatherboard home in flames.

Firefighters conducted an external attack on the fire and managed to get the incident under control within about 30 minutes.

No one was inside the property at the time, however a dog sadly passed away in the incident.

The fire caused significant damage to the property. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.

FRV was supported on scene by CFA firefighters. Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police also attended.
