Firefighters tackle St Albans house fire

Firefighters are responding to a fire in St Albans after a call to Triple Zero just before 4:50 pm reported flames emitting from a house.

FRV crews arrived to the Levenia Street scene to find the rear of a single storey brick veneer home engulfed in flames.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters attacked the blaze and worked efficiently to prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring homes.

Thankfully all persons have evacuated the home and are accounted for.

Patients have been assessed by Ambulance Victoria paramedics and three of the occupants have been transferred to hospital.

Victoria Police are also attending the scene and are advising neighbouring residents to remain indoors

The cause of the fire is currently undetermined.
