Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus worked in groups to attack the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring shops.

A search of the premises was conducted but luckily, the building was vacant.

The fire was declared under control just after 4.30am,.

Six pumpers, one rescue unit and one aerial unit were deployed to the incident.

Specialists from FRV’s Fire Investigation Unit will be investigating the cause of the fire. Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria assisted FRV on scene.
