FRV was on scene in less than 6 minutes with flames and smoke visible and immediately began evacuating the premises that contained one bungalow and an adjoining house while working to isolate power and gas.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus then quickly began suppressing the fire from the 15 x 10m single storey detached bungalow. The fire was successfully contained to the bungalow.
Five Pumpers, a Rescue appliance and Aerial appliance were assisted by three specialist and support vehicles.
The fire was declared under control at 9:31pm and its cause has been deemed to be accidental.
One person was treated for minor burns by Ambulance Victoria paramedics but did not require hospitalisation.
