Five escape Meadow Heights fire

Approximately 30 FRV firefighters responded to a house fire in Meadow Heights on Monday afternoon.

FRV and CFA crews responded to Eucalyptus Place following reports of smoke issuing from a house, just before 12:30pm.

Firefighters arrived on scene in within six minutes, to find all the occupants had self-evacuated.

Wearing breathing apparatus, they contained the fire to a rear bedroom of the house, and brought it under control within 20 minutes.

Five people were transferred into the care of Ambulance Victoria paramedics.

Specialist fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the blaze
