Approximately 22 firefighters responded to a house fire in Kings Park early on Thursday morning.

FRV crews were called to the Alan Street incident at 5:20am, after multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported the fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene in five minutes, to find a house well alight and threatening neighbouring properties.

Wearing breathing apparatus, they worked to protect the surrounding houses, and brought the blaze under control within 25 minutes.

Fortunately four people had evacuated the home before crews arrived, and firefighters evacuated neighbours as a precaution.

Specialist FRV fire investigators will attend the scene to determine the cause.

FRV worked alongside Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria at the scene.

Crews will remain on scene for some time to ensure the fire is completely extinguished.
